Whether you're a die-hard fan of Bridgerton, or Tchaikovsky, this concert is for you!

Updated: 2 days ago

Our upcoming concert "Romance and Fate" showcases the gorgeous music of the late Romantic period. Even if you're new to classical music, from the opening notes you'll be swept away into a world of fun, intrigue, beauty and drama.

First up, "Romance" with Otto Nikolai's overture from "The Merry Wives of Windsor". In this famous Viennese comic opera (that's not about the UK Royals), an older nobleman pursues younger married women at court but makes the fatal mistake of recycling his love letters. When the ladies get talking hilarious revenge ensues.

The orchestra will then be joined by Milo Duval, an exciting up and coming cellist from Brisbane, for Tchaikovsky's gorgeous "Variations on a rococo theme".

In the "Fate" half of the concert we'll be performing Tchaikovsky's epic Fifth Symphony. It's very Game of Thrones - armies on the march, passion, romance, battle scenes. If symphonies needed a content rating this one would be lucky to get an MA+.

Don't miss this one, 2pm Sunday 29th March, tickets available via the link below.

(The Rococo aesthetic was all about "form over function" but AI has taken this to the next level - check out the two ton chandelier suspended from an unreinforced glass ceiling and the candelabras set just below the carved wooden windowsills...)
