We welcome applications from new orchestral musicians!

As a guide, the minimum standard is AMEB gr 6 (or equivalent) for strings, and AMEB gr 8 for wind and brass players.

If we have a vacancy and your application is suitable, we offer a trial period of one concert (and rehearsals leading up to this) before offering full membership.  SCSO values both musicianship and collegiality.

We also keep a guest list of suitable players in order to fill vacancies and absences as they arise.​​
