Renae Suttie: Soprano at A Night at The Proms

With a professional vocal career spanning 30 years, Renae Suttie has led an adventurous life of performing around the world, coaching, mentoring, event organising and charity fundraising.


Following her music studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and with a degree in Japanese, Renae sang on the international 5-star hotel circuit throughout Asia and the Pacific.



Renae received the Song Of The Year Award in the 1993 Australasian Songwriters Association Songwriting Contest, and Jazz Vocalist Award at the 2007 ABC Valley Jazz Festival. Renae has released an album of jazz originals called Starlight.


In Australia, Renae performs regularly as a featured soloist and also with Exaudi Australis, The Kitty Kats, The Swing Collective, The Sundowners, and Swing Central Big Band.


Renae has performed alongside Ian Moss and Kate Miller-Heidke at the NRL Grand Final, and sang the Australian National Anthem for the Rugby League World Cup Women’s Final.


With the gift of “perfect pitch”, Renae can be heard on many Australian television and radio advertisements.


Renae has been the event organiser of the Doonan Community Christmas Carols, the Hinterland Carols, and co-event organiser of the Eumundi Christmas Extravaganza.


As a vocal coach, Renae has been involved with Creative Generation State Schools Onstage, mentor for Lord Mayor’s Senior Cabaret program, guest vocal tutor at the USQ McGregor Summer Retreat, and guest lecturer at University Of The Sunshine Coast.


Through their fundraising involvement with Mooloolaba Rotary, Renae’s vocal group, The Kitty Kats, were honoured by the naming of the brand-new Kitty Kats Classroom at the Dunamis Christian School and Orphanage in Welkom, South Africa, and have since raised funds for two new Kitty Kats Playgrounds at the school.


For her service to the local community, Renae was awarded a Queensland Day Award in 2019.
