We're really excited to perform a new orchestral work "Symphonic Fantasy" by renowned Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja as part of our upcoming concert "Symphonic Horizons - around the world in 80 minutes".
You know when someone goes by a single name in their promotions (think Madonna, Prince, Bono...) they've achieved some serious fame, and Ilaiyaraaja is no exception. As Bollywood's most prolific and beloved composer, Ilaiyaraaja has carved out his place in the pantheon of film composers alongside Hans Zimmer and John Williams.
SCSOs resident composer Clifford Bradley has been working as Ilaiyaraaja's orchestral copyist and was able to secure permission for SCSO to perform his latest work for orchestra "Symphonic Fantasy".
Full of rhythmic complexity, sweeping melodies and ornate flourishes this exciting work will no doubt be an audience highlight at our upcoming Symphonic Horizons concert at the Events Centre Caloundra, 2pm September 13th.
