We have quite a few doctors in the Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra, and two of our Board members Dr Emma Secomb and Dr Andrew Paszkowski have been hard at work organising the Australian Doctors Orchestra 2026 Sunshine Coast charity concert at The Events Centre Caloundra 2pm, Sunday July 26th.
Each year musical medicos from around the country get together for a 3-day intensive ADO rehearsal program that culminates in a concert to raise funds for a local charity. This year all ticket sales profits from the event will be donated to Bloomhill Cancer Care, and if it's a sell-out performance ADO hope to raise nearly $20 000!
Keep your eye out for guest players from SCSO Karen Nankervis (double bass), Lucy Holthusen (violin), Clayton Fiander (trombone), Mike Fitzpatrick (bass trombone) and Caitlyn Small (harp), as well as SCSO doctors Andrew Paszkowski (viola), Emma Secomb (oboe), Amy Pun (percussion), Christina Sander (cello), Tim Butson (cello), and medical student Elizabeth Wegener (violin). ADO will also perform "Corvus Overture" co-written by SCSO resident composer Clifford Bradley & Kyan Pennell and the concert will be conducted by SCSO guest conductor Huw Jones.
