Internationally acclaimed violinist and conductor Daniel Kossov has performed with many of the world’s foremost musical personalities, and has appeared at New York's Carnegie Hall, Paris' Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Vienna's Musikverein and London's South Bank and Wigmore halls.
A graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and Guildhall School of London, Daniel arrived in Australia at the age of 23 to become leader of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra in Perth.
Daniel has subsequently been invited to perform with the Melbourne, Tasmanian and Queensland symphony orchestras.
A recipient of the '2001 Centenary Medal for Service to Australian Society and the Advancement of Music', Daniel has always been passionate about the teaching and fostering of young musicians, often fitting in presentations and collaborations at educational institutions between performance obligations.
Daniel’s performances have been described by critics as having an "...amazing degree of intensity, sensitivity and maturity..." and delivering "...a performance of unfailing taste and refinement..."
Always keen to make music with new people, Daniel has recently moved to the Sunshine Coast and joined the SCSO, and is excited to perform solo with the SCSO for the first time at the Cinema Adventures concert on 7 December 2024.
